Shaan (born Shantanu Mukherjee (Bengali: শান্তনু মুখার্জী, Hindi: शन्तनु मुखरजी) on September 30, 1972), is a renowned Indian playback singer and successful television host. He is not only an accomplished playback singer,but also has realeased very successful albums like Tanha Dil and Aksar. Apart from Hindi songs,Shaan has also given his voice to many hit Bengali,Telugu and Tamil film songs. Because of his mellifluous voice, he has become first choice for melodious songs in the Bollywood films.He was the host for the popular show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa from 2000–2006 and also for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs. Shaan is also the host for another popular reality show called Star Voice of India. He is currently hosting the sequel to Star Voice of India, Star Voice of India 2.
Shaan was born into a Bengali family on 30 September 1972. He is the son of the late music director Manas Mukherjee and brother of singer Sagarika. His father passed away,when Shaan was at tender age of 14 years only.
